The Grosse Pointe Farms Municipal Court has jurisdiction over all civil matters up to a $3,000 limit. The court also has jurisdiction over all criminal misdemeanors and traffic-related offenses occurring within the Farms. The court handles the arraignment, the setting of bail, and conducts the preliminary examination of felony cases. In addition, landlord-tenant matters are handled by the court. Regular sessions of the court are held twice monthly with trials scheduled throughout the month. Citizens are requested to be prepared to pay all fines and costs at the time of assessment (MCR 1.110)
Credit Card Payments
The Court now accepts payment of fines and costs using credit card through the Government Payment EXP (GovPayEXP). There is EITHER an additional Internet service fee of 3.5% (minimum $3.50) and an Internet Handling Fee of $0.50 OR a Phone Service Fee of 5% (Minimum $5.00) and Phone Handling Fee ($1.00).

Notice for Misdemeanor Convictions
Pursuant to 2011 PA 293 and 2011 PA 294 - Effective April 1, 2012 the state minimum cost will change from $48.00 to $50.00 and a $75.00 crime victim assessment will be assessed on all misdemeanor convictions.

Drove While License Expired
Improper Plate/Registration
Disobey School Crossing Guard
Animal Violations
